I just don't get it.serously.
Define achievement? Is it something materialistic or something that is beyond that? I mean i seriously don't get it. First he says that academics aren't that important out there in the working world and now he wants everyone to achieve. sheesh how more contradicting can he get siol.
Face it, no matter what someone says, the top level management only cares about academics. Seriously, i was really fuming just now. How can he says that IND has no achievers ? no Champions? IF THAT is so can someone tell me WHY the hell is a banner of kevin up at the concourse? WHY was he featured in The New Paper a couple of weeks back?
I guess there is only ONE simple answer. A non Academic achivement doesn't merit recognition from the course manager. Let me put it bluntly ( even if a lecturer happens to come by here to read this). I SOOOOOO prefer the old course manager Mr Garluck than this current one - whose name i can't even remember cause i choose not to. It's bad enough that the course is pretty much like Iraq - divided , I get this feeling i'm in a civil war - it totally doesn't help to have the so called "head" of the course to be someone so un-family-like ( if there is even such a word). At least when Garluck was still the course manager he gave the feeling of familiness and warmth ( okay maybe it helps that he looks like a garfield). I still can't believe what the new CM said to the cohort in the LT just now " if you guys don't like the name.. i won't give it to you all. I will give it to my next batch" ( of course he was referring to the change in course name that is going to happen soon). I mean HELLO ain't the diploma suppose to be ONE BIG FAMILY?? And i still vaguely remember that he asked us in an intimidating manner the last time WHY there was no sense of bonding in the course.. i think we all know why now right?
I was really tempted ( and i Think Amin was too) to just simply put up my hand to give a response when he said " more self directed learning next sem". Seriously, I was just so tempted to raise up my hand and say " if that is the case, isn't it better to not have school and instead we learn from external online tutorials?" Since the lecturers didn't teach nor help much this sem. So if they are reducing the lecturer's " spoon feeding" might as well not have any lessons at all. Face it, from the presentation it was pretty obvious right. If the "SUPERB" students in class are able to produce a fantastic looking flash site using tutorials they get from internet instead of using what was taught by the lecturers ( there wasn't much taught aniway) so why.. WHY WHYY? do we even need those lecturers. They just end up confusing us instead of helping us.
To be honest i don't know what the hell is up. I mean whatever that the lecturers teach are not really what other's out there are using. So are we actually being taught the wrong thing? Someone once said ( i can't remember who or rather i choose not to remember who) that the the lecturers are only teaching us cause they can't make it big out there. Well maybe MAYBE it is true, since i mean there is like bigger pay out there as compared to being a lecturer in TP. Alright so there might be some exceptions ( since some lecturers are infact good at what they do) but the bulk?? I think learning from a fellow student OR the internet is more helpful and in a way clearer. OK maybe I take back the learning from fellow student part since SOME students are not willing to share their knowledge with the rest. But oh well. Whatever.
If academic is all that matters and nothing else is recognised, I'm soo not suprise why the society is not wholesome. I just can't believe some people are so narrow-minded about life. Probably because they haven't got any.
SO people i care about, my friends.. GET A life. no wait if i'm close enough to people to call them friends They do have a life. to people who i am acquainted with... GO GET A LIFE. Seriously, and don't walk up to me and pretend to be my friend when you need help in your work. Cause that is called USING PEOPLE.
note to self... i'm really lucky to have friends like afi,amin,haris,cavin,seri,xh,kelly.karen,nazyra,yi han and many many ( okay not that many maybe a handful) of friends whom i can always turn to and know that they got my back. And boy am I lucky to have my silat team around me.
