I'm cold
My heart is cold
There's nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
everythings just not fun
help me through this tide.

Were do we all stand? seriously? Singapore is such a fast paced country so much so that if you stop to blink, you might have just missed your ride. But Singapore is such an academically driven country that the youths are like robots. Without good academic qualifications or if you don't make the grade you falter.

Everyone is so focused on getting grades that they forget talent. They forget what it means to do what you want, to do the thing that you have passion for. If Singaporeans are so grades-based oriented, that what will ever happen to those who have passion for arts, the passion for sports? Does it mean that just for the sake of our "career" we have to forgo our love for arts, sports and everything else so as to attain a piece of paper qualification?

The good becomes better, the bad.. well become worse. Is that how its suppose to be? I've always told my juniors, prove everyone wrong, but to be honest there's only so much you can do. How often do we find that the "best" are always the ones that get picked, the ones that enjoy the limelight and the ones that always "win". When they say, we give everyone equal opportunity, its rather obvious that the 'best' are always the first ones to be considered. So what about the rest? do we just keep on waiting and hoping with disillusioned hopes or should we just give up? fight back? speak up? either way someone will lose out. And more often than not the best will always still be the best.
